A key league umpire is recovering from a head damage after a participant unintentionally strike him in the ear for the duration of an at-bat.
Joe West was smacked in his left ear on Thursday though calling a sport involving the Toronto Blue Jays and the Washington Nationals.
The blow to the noggin occurred when Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette was at the plate and missing handle of the bat, in accordance to Bleacher Nation.
