Kristen Stewart Recalls Being “Hounded” About Labeling Herself

Kristen Stewart spoke about the strain to explore her sexuality with the general public.

In a new interview with InStyle, Kristen opened up to Happiest Season director and co-writer Clea DuVall about how she related with the future movie. The Christmas film is about a lady who brings her girlfriend household for the holiday seasons despite not staying out to her mother and father. As a queer woman, Kristen admitted she felt similar stress to speak about her sexuality—except for her, it was with the whole entire world.

“The 1st time I ever dated a female, I was instantly staying asked if I was a lesbian,” she discussed. “And it is like, ‘God, I am 21 a long time outdated.’ I felt like it’s possible there had been matters that have harm men and women I have been with. Not simply because I felt ashamed of remaining openly gay but simply because I didn’t like supplying myself to the public, in a way.

“Even in my preceding associations, which were straight, we did anything we could to not be photographed carrying out things—things that would turn into not ours,” Kristen continued. “So I feel the included stress of symbolizing a team of men and women, of symbolizing queerness, was not a little something I understood then.”
